This column in the Buffalo News by Rabbi Marc Gellman sums up well how I feel about communicating with the dead.

It's probably not true, but if it is true, we shouldn't be messing with it. Much like Ouija boards. Not sure if it's a silly game or a portal we have no business opening, so I'm not taking any chances.
